Flashing with Trace32 Lauterbach TMDX570LC43HDK hercules board not happening

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDX570LC43HDK

Hello ,

Kindly let me know is it possible to flash TMX570LC4357 microcontroller (ARM® Cortex™-R5F core) in the hercules board TMDX570LC43HDK  with Trace32 Lauterbach in windows7 .

I used LA-7708  Debug -usb2 debugger and connector LA-7843  JATG CORTEX-A/R .

The SW used is TRACE32 ICD ARM USB for flashing .I am fetting a message Emulation debug port fail -- check processor, socket , target clock...What should be the traget clock ??

But I am always getting error with a RED LED (on the PCB where it is written Error  ) on the board always glowing                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           ) light ...

Kindly help me .

Also I have another big  question. I used the board directly out of box. When I powered ON the device a RED LED light is glowing Kindly let me know whether when the microcontroller in the board contains any demo software already flashed in it ...???

Thanks and Regards,

Sans

  • Hello Sans,

Unfortunately, I am not certain if Lauterbach supports the TMX570LC4357 device yet. This particular device is very new and requires the latest Flash API to program it due to additional features that have been added to the Hercules Architecture in this device. I encourage you to reach out to Lauterbach to check if an update to support this device is available. Note that we will also reach out to them to let them know that TI will provide an necessary support if they have not updated their tools to support the LC4357 and they would like to do so.

In regard to the red light, this is most likely an ESM error light that you are seeing. For out of box, you could try and reset the device to see if it goes away, but I believe this is related to an errata (shown below). You would need to query the ESM registers through a debugger to identify which error flags are set to make a detailed diagnosis.
