EK-TM4C1294XL Development VM

Hi all,

I've bought a tiva connected launchpad and succeded in deploying a development environment within a Linux Mint 17 + arm baked GCC + lmtools.

Now I want to cook a development VM for my colleagues with all the needed tools that works smoothly in my setup but inside a VM, the thing is that (using Virtual Box ) I'm not able to make the virtual machine see the ICDI over the USB.

Has anyone ever tried this?

Giuseppe

  • Hi,

AFAIK, (again) some VM had problems with USB shared connections - best not to use VM - there is a Linux version of CCS, other possible configurations (as you said): GCC+ Eclipse+OpenOCD. (I use the last option on MAC)

  • Thank you,

I know there are other possible configuration (and I'm using them),

the thing i wanted to know was if someone was able to use a VM, because for some people in our team it would have been better given that we should all use the same toolchain but some use (because of other tools) Windows and some Linux, and i don't want dual boot system.

  • Hi,

I tried once Virtual Box and in the user manual was specially written the USB connection is not supported, so I had to look out for other solutions. Do not know if solved in the latest version.
