ADC Trigger Source of TI FOC Software

Hi,

As you know FOC software does its control routines in every ADC interrupt. When i look for ADC trigger source i realized adc triggered with ADC1_HET1_17 and its connected to hall effect pin (CAP2) on J10 (in LS31 Kit).

So, is that mean FOC algorithm runs when Hall sensor (CAP2) gaves 'logic 1' (or 'logic 0') ?

And could you provide me some documents about FOC algorithm ,detailed, which runs on DRV8301-LS31 KIT.

Hi,

I had examined drv8301.het file for this question and as i saw at het instructions, HET17 used for ADC trigger and controlled by 35th instruction on het.

I saw this instruction on sys_main.c file of FOC:

"hetRAM1->Instruction[35U].Data = ((T*vCNT_SCALE+1)/2)*128;"

I thought it writes trigger time value of ADC to instruction's compare value so at the midpoint of the PWM period, HET_17 pin set thus ADC triggered.

Therefore i think CAP2 pin used for bldc control algorithms on DRV8301-LS31 kit so it is not related with FOC software, am i right ?

Hi Furkan,

You are right: N2HET1[17] is configured as an output PWM used to trigger the ADC. CAP2 is not used in this example.
