What softwares should i use for TIVA C Series ?

I have been using eclipse and LM flash programmer till no wto program my board. But i went through certain tutorials by TI and found all of them use CCS , Keil , IAR , etc. Please guide whether i should change my software and what all difficuties i may face in switching to CCS

  • Hi Himanshu,

CCS have lots of features that you will find much to your liking and I would advice you to switch to CCS. If you encounter any problems using CCS, you can ask for help at CCS forum. There are several TI Engineers there who can help you with any CCS problem, plus also the regular E2E members who are also good at CCS.

  • Hello Himanshu

CCS is based on eclipse so a migration would not be that difficult. But the question is if that everything works fine then why move, ought be a strong reason to do so and incur pain of application not working, strange errors, IDE crash, debugger not found, etc.

    Regards

Great point - along w/recognition that CCS is based upon eclipse.  (both points - apparently missed - by another)

Blasphemy (perhaps) but any move to a vendor-locked IDE (such as CCS - or other vendor supplied) may not prove to your long-term - best interest.  Really - can one vendor - provide best MCU - best features - best availability - best price - at all times?  Really?

Vendor agnostic IDEs (Keil, IAR quickly dawn) are noted to outperform vendor-locked - prove more robust and provide the more efficient & 2 gpio pin-saving "SWD" (some way/how) still absent w/in CCS.
