ESD protection for ADC inputs

Thank you for the reply.

I have some query regarding the ADC interface of microcontroller. i went through the datasheet and found the following internal block diagram for ADC pins.

From the diagram it is not clear what is the behaviour of the ADC pin for transient pulses. for eg. The ISO pulses will have maximum voltage of 100V. How the internal circuitry of ADC is protected or do we have to take this in to account in our circuit external to the microcontroller?

Hi Kunmit,

The above diagram doesn't include any protection circuit. It would be best to account for the protection against the ISO pulses at the board level although I'm not sure what these pulses look like in terms of duration. The ESD circuit on our device is really intended only to protect against handling during assembly of the part onto a board so I doubt it will handle the ISO pulses you're asking about.
