One question on SafeTI Compiler Qualification Kit

Hi team,

I have a question on SafeTI Compiler Qualification Kit. I know this kit is to qualify TI's ARM compiler and will generate some reports to help the customer’s products to pass the certification. Will this kit also test the customer’s own code according to the safety standard's requirements (IEC61508)? If it is, what is the diagnosis coverage? Thanks for your support!

Hello Jason,

The purpose of the Compiler Qualification Kit is to qualify the compiler only. In other words, it will generate and execute the necessary test conditions to demonstrate the performance of the compiler in compiling code given the customer's compiler settings and development platform. It will not test the application/customer code. The customer is responsible for the methodology and effectiveness of testing code that will be programmed into the microcontroller..
