Hi,

I'm using TM4C123GH6PGE(Cortex-M4) microcontroller. I interfaced JHD204A LCD to my controller using parallel communication. this LCD is of 5x8 dots with 8-bit data. what function value i need to set and what is the procedure i need to fallow. I'm unable to initialize it please give me some suggestions.

    I've past posted here reasonably exact, "Character Lcd" initialization instructions.  You should be able to find the industry standard, "HD44780" IC manuals - throughout the web.  Detailed initialization is provided w/in the HD44780 manuals.

    Suggest that you employ 8 bit mode - 4 bit saves 4 signal lines - yet exhausts your helpers as great discipline is required.

    Most new users "miss" the contrast pin's - voltage requirement.  Pot wired between 2V and ground works best here - usually a setting of 0.5V is adequate to make the dot field "just" visible.
