thanks in adcance

  • Sudha,

Do you mean Proteus the PCB design tool similar to Tina or Eagle?

If so I don't know - I don't think we've ever worked with them but they might have some basic ARM core support.

TI doesn't offer any simulators for these devices - instead our focus has been to make low cost hardware readily available - for example the Hercules Launchpad at ~$20 and the USB sticks & control cards for the higher end products.  I think we'll wind up continuing down this path expanding the # of launchpads available.

There was a cortex r simulator available in CCS although I believe simulator support has been removed from CCSv6.  It turns out that for various reasons (most notably the lack of cycle accurate execution and no floating point support) the simulator for the cortex r that was included in CCS 5 wasn't a great fit for Hercules anyway.   Tried to recommend people against using it.

So to summarize I'd recommend looking at one of the low cost hardware solutions.   If you wanted to setup some sort of automated flow, you can still do this with the hardware and the debug server scripting package that comes with CCS and allows you to control the hardware through scripts rather than the GUI.
