where to begin

Hi,

I am going to start my project with Tiva C Series TM4C129X, i have knowledge only in AVR & PIC controllers. I want to become versatile in this controller. I don't know how to do program for this controller.  So just guide me how & where to start my learning process.

  • Hi,

If you have a Tiva Connected Launchpad or EK-TM4C129, download the workbook pdf from the link below. You can learn from the labs in that workbook. Also, read the sticky posts in this forum.

May I guide you to be bit less demanding/commanding in such requests?  Use of "please" is a well noted social lubricant - absent your request.  ("Just guide me" comes across as a command - doubt that was your intention - most here give freely of their time/effort - yet few wish to be "commanded!")  I make this observation for your/others benefit.

You've chosen to start w/vendor's, "best/brightest" (and most demanding) ARM MCU, here.  Is that deliberate?  Is it wise?

Might the more available, less costly "123" series prove a superior choice for your investigation & learning?  (our small tech group believes so...)

  • If you never used a Tiva, i also advise using the tm4c123 launchpad, the smaller one.

  • Hello Sarathi,

Please do not take my statement as something negative.

Becoming versatile in a processor is not about getting a EVM (LaunchPad in our case) and coding-programming "hello world" or "blinky". It is about having an application in mind and then converting it into a physical product. So where to begin: Forum members have given the workshop link, etc, I would advise think of what you want to do (within the bounds of compute power of a uC like TM4C) and then work towards it with the workshops, data manuals, etc

    Regards
