Tiva USB DFU broken

Since the lastest Windows update this weekend (29 Nov 2014) the Tiva DFU fails to start with the message

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I am using the drivers in Tivaware 2.1.0.12573 and I have been using DFU successfully for months. My USB boot code is more or less set in stone and hasn't changed at all.

The ICDI debugger is unaffected thanks heavens else I'd really be screwed.

I tried uninstalling the latest updates starting with security updates but it just takes too long so I need a quicker fix.

Is TI or anyone else aware of this?

Hello David

To clarify, are you using a Flash based boot loader or the ROM based boot loader.

Our office PCs may have experienced the same. (I'm remote from them now) May we ask (when) was the last time you employed DFU successfully - if you can recall such?

Later we read "USB boot code, more or less set in stone" followed by, "hasn't changed at all." Pardon but law-school sensitizes to the inconsistency in that sentence - might you clarify?

If that update was "automatic" and if many here employ DFU w/some regularity - similar complaints should land shortly... May help if you clarify (which) Windows...

My code is based upon the boot_usb example in Tivaware which I guess means the flash based bootloader.

I first learned how to use the bootloader about 6 months ago, so the code (bl_config.h) and method of triggering the bootloader (magic number in 1st word of eeprom) was written then and never changed since.

Several apps based upon this mechanism have been written since then & all worked up till this weekend. The only influence I can see between the last time it worked and now is a Windows update.

Yes, updates are automatic.

I'm using Win7 Ultimate 32 bit.
