RM46HDK, XDS510USB, CCSv6

Hi,

I have a RM46HDK board used for application development.

I purchased an XDS510 USB cable with the 14pin JTAG interface (http://www.spectrumdigital.com/product_info.php?products_id=29)

The RM46 has the 20 pin ARM JTAG connector. Can I connect the JTAG cable to the RM46 JTAG pins?

We're using CCSv6

Thanks,

Andrew

  • Andy,

We don't recommend using that emulator with the RM46HDK.  The problem w. the 510 USB is that is an old product and hasn't been maintained (in terms of drivers) which is why we have removed it from our recommended list.    Especially if you are using CCSv6 it is a good idea to get a different emulator.

Can you return it and exchange it for one of the recommended emulators?

    http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/microcontrollers_16-bit_32-bit/c2000_performance/safety/tms570/tools_software.page#emu

In the meantime you have an on-board XDS100v2 on the HDK that you can use.     The XDS200 is probably the most equivalent to the 510 USB as a replacement.

For your new emulator the 2 external JTAG headers on the HDK are of type:

      - ARM 20 pin    [not TI CTI 20 pin]

      - MIPI 60 pin

So you either want an emulator that comes w. one of these natively or that comes with an adapter.
