RM48L952ZWT Different Terminals Share Same Signal Name (Multiplexing)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RM48L952

Hi,

We are using the RM48L952ZWT Hercules Board. When planning the multiplexing and mapping out all the terminals to functions we need, we are reading TI document #SPNS177B-september2011-revised july 2013 version of datasheet for RM48L952. According to this document, there are some terminals  that share same signal name. Are these typos in table or how is it intended we resolve this?  (page numbers of table entries are below):

Terminals G3(pg28) and B13 (pg23) signal name "N2HET1[19]"

Terminals J3 (pg28) and H4(pg23) signal name "N2HET1[21]"

Terminals V10(pg28) and F2(pg 25) signal name "GIOB[2]"

Terminals J4[pg23] AND G19(p29) signal name "N2HET1[23]"

Terminals A9[pg23] AND B2(p27) signal name "N2HET1[27]"

Terminals F3(p29) AND A13[pg23] signal name "N2HET1[17]"

Thank you

  • Tammy,

Yes you can use these signals on either ball.

You can confirm this by checking the signal multiplexing and control table 4-16 in the TRM.

The signals above all appear twice.   In the place where they appear in the "Default Column", that's the ball where they appear first (or alone) in the pin-name in the device terminal functions table. (the first signal name is always the default).

GIOB[2] has some additional special case notes described in section 4.3.3  ... I believe the gist of the paragraph is that it can appear as an input only on the MibSI3/AD2EVT.

Here's the table I'm referring to,  I highlighted one of the signals in the list above where you can see the two options:

  • Hi, thankyou. For the N2HET2 signals and terminal assignments, we saw in datasheet on page 24, listed 0 through 18. N2HEt1 we have 0 through 31. Are there no additional signals and terminals for N2HET2 signals 19 through 31 as we have for N2HET1?
  • Hi Tammy,

Not on the RM48L852.  If you need more N2HET pins we have the RM57L843 which has all of the N2HET1 and N2HET2 pins available.  (It has a lot more of everything actually, cpu frequency, flash, ram, other peripherals, ...)
