OT: ESTORE also unusable

HI, I am sorry this area is quite inappropriate too but I don't know where to post this problem:

TIESTORE after forum got broken also worstened a lot, this appeared some years ago, now some feature got away silently (Wish List and his content) and also adding shippng cost brokened all away. I am sure early day shipping cost was 7 USD$, now is 14 but also calculation of costs is broken.

Removing items and or changing quantity result in wrong total cost, no way to empty cart and also cancelling all items a cost remain in total too. See this simple add of a single items where cost may be 66USD and 14 shipping (not so low but...) raied to 100 USD and again pay got to 114USD seems have shipping cost added twice??

 After that see this :

So I cancelled all items, first I attempted cancel Launchpad, no success, then I cancel Bundle and this cancel all items but result is this worst calculus, is this inferred from M$ calculus of integer division in VB or Excel?? (integer 7 divide by 2 is 3 remainder 1 not 4!!!)

Still remain TI professional level using beta test or is dropping to useless????

Hey genius commercial, a skilled person cost a lot, an unskilled cost less but the company name!!!!

  •  Some time after cart cleared itself, then bought again and eureka.. it seem work now?

We noted the same - as you say - (suspiciously) close to the time of this (vital) forum change.

Rather than "clearing itself" - we'd bet that you deserve credit for "flagging" the issue - so that a "fix" could be attempted...

Out of curiosity - assuming local (Italian) disty carries those goods - might that save you time/cost?

No, they cost more and more and also delivery time is worst. The best is to buy from German site and get delivered to.  From now TI delivered for free, shipping cost is still good but not so much if some custom fee are to be applied too, this case cost rise about 30% or more so I evaluate different channel offering from Europe delivery or prepaid custom.

My country is no more competitive due to progression of <<clever>> commercial people.

  • Roberto - feel your pain...  How lucky (and spoiled) are we born in USA.  (yet had little to do w/that...)

Now our firm has several new Euro "agents."  May I ask if (tech shipment related) taxes, duties, custom's fees are "constant" - between any two countries w/in E.U.?"  We note your mention of Germany - does this mean that, "Germany to Italy" shipments are less burdened by taxes, duty, customs - than would be an identical shipment - from another country w/in the E.U.?

I ask as we may be able to install a very specialized "agent" in Euro - ship to them "in bulk" (i.e. few, organized, large shipments - designed to best reduce those, "tax, duty, custom" fees) and then route (efficiently) to Euro users - such as yourself...  (I'd have thought that large distys had "worked this out.")

Beyond my comprehension (& pay grade) to understand why/how your local disty proves so poor - their role is to make the (local) sales process, "comfortable & convenient" - appears that they're badly failing...

Hi CB1, we are OT but I can answer too, to be sure you can have same item shipped from USA to IT, HK to IT, GB to IT, DE to IT and CH to IT and then worst IT to IT.

At this point everyone can imagine IT to IT was the lowest cost, this is not, is the higher cost and slow unreliable service, HK/C to IT are the lowest, USA raised tariff and other are lowest, GB and CH have some anomalies and first many time result very expensive the second one is plagued by custom taxes and delay too, is more simple to go at location and pick by person.

From German to IT the cost of shipment get low but also from Spain and Portugla, don't ask me why, services also change, UPS is better in USA it is worst here, EMS here is graved by postal service and a 5 day delivery arrive forever plagued by taxation after 30-50 day, also from Europe is highly delayed.

The two (for now) getting at premium are DHL (known also as Deutsche Post DHL) still plagued by custom arbitrary presuncted value taxation  and Swiss post recently landed in this worst country.

Europe taxation and VAT change from country to country and also Firm taxation change so Germany is the better for logistic, Italy WAS now it is as you wrote failing.

Sorry for OT, we can continue on pri conversation if more is needed.

  • Don't know if we're really Off Topic (had to think about that one) as EStore does ship - and we're trying to discover/uncover "best methods" - for those vendor clients located in Euro.

From my read (your writing) all that was "supposed" to result from E.U. has not (really/strictly) occurred. And - that may not be unusual - as we were promised, "If you like your doctor - you can keep your doctor..." Or not...

Certainly prepaid custom fee, items arrived this morning and ONE of them got taxed:

     from 29.99 US$ of items I paid:

     5.26 Euro IVA (VAT)

10.75 Diritti Amministrativi (administrative right due for handling of FEDEX)

as you can see again value add a 25% VAT and an additional 50% of TOO HUGE management of tax income so definitive stay away from here, Germay can be best choice for a lot of reason too.

     original price 29.99US$ -> 23.93 Euro

added taxation 16.01 Percentage of value:  66.9% not bad :8

If all where taxated I assure you a return to seller was the best way.

So another bad move of TI saying just nothing about new shipment rule....

  • @ Roberto,

Nightmare and depressing - rolled into one.  Sorry - feel your pain.

I'm unsure if you're noting that shipments from US - from this vendor - are charged higher, "duties, taxes, fees" than those shipments from (other) similar, US-based vendors?  Is that what you're saying, Roberto?  And - if so - have you a recent, similar shipment - which you can list here for comparison?

One final point - is the VAT rate applied (equally) to components as well as, "finished goods?"  We note that some firms reduce such charges by emblazing the shipment paperwork with: "Salesman's samples - NO commercial value."  While that's (likely) not appropriate for the shipment of finished goods from this vendor - AND if the VAT rate changes based upon "state/class/designation" of goods - this method may gain you some relief from the "delight" of duties, taxes, fees...
