Could anyone please elaborated the significance of two tm4c123gh6pmi ICs on the launchpads?

Why do we need two different ICs?

You can find the answer by going through the "Tiva C Series TM4C123G Launchpad Evaluation Board User's Guide" doc.

The other Tiva MCU on the board functions as an ICDI.
