vddc pin tm4c129ncpdt controller

Hi Frnds

can someone plz tell me what is the significance of "vddc" in tm4c129ncpdt microcontroller i.e. while making circuit diagram if i have to connect it to external 3.3v power supply or not. if not then why this pin is given on controller.

  • Hello Sanjay

The VDDC is the Core LDO voltage pin. It is is 1.2V which is sourced by the TM4C device and "must" have a capacitor in the range of 2.5uF-4.5uF. It must not be connected to the 3.3V supply or you would damage the device. The pin is given (over simplified) so that when there is a large jump in device activity the cap acts like a small cell to supply the instantaneous current while the internal LDO response lags.

For more details on routing please refer to the System Design Guideline document for TM4C129 SPMA056.pdf
