SSI in slave mode - is there a way to clear the transmit FIFO?

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to clear the SSI transmit FIFO. I know this is possible for the receive FIFO by simply reading from it, but I haven't been able to find a way to do something similar for the transmit FIFO.

Hello dese73,

Without transmitting the data it cannot be cleared. The other option is to do a reset of the peripheral using SysCtlPeripheralReset but that would require all peripheral configuration to be done again

Hello dese73,

Another workaround w/o doing a peripheral reset would be turn the IO's for SSI In GPIO Mode and then transmit the data out of the buffer. This will not impact the slave device as it will not see any CS, CLK, MOSI transaction. Then you can clear the RXFIFO, reconfigure the IO's back to SSI Mode and continue using SSI.
