1-Wire in tm4c129xnczad

Please see the datasheet of the MCU. You can find the pin and port information on Page 1512. For the driver, Take a look at the TivaWare™ Peripheral Driver Library document on page 407. Programming example is given on Page 415.

The PinMux utility does not have the information for 1-wire. However the Port+Pin is mentioned in the data sheet's Signal Description Section (Table 22-1). The current version of TivaWare does not have the driverlib built for 1-wire and it is coming in the soon to follow release of TivaWare.

Hi Zvi, I don't see where example is, please can you point us where is in Tivaware?
I suppose is a software only driver so any GPIO can do the job.

Strange.

I'm using Tivaware 2.1.0.12573 and it contains the file driverlib\onewrite.c

I also tried calling the routine OneWireInit and compilation + link was OK.

Does it make sense ?

It seems using this driver I can read\write data, get interrupts etc.

Hello Zvi,

The hw_onewire.h is missing. So if you plan to move to the debug version, it will not work as the base file is missing.

Currently I do not need to debug driverlib\onewrite.c just use its routines.
The first parameter of OneWireInit is: ui32Base

Can I use more than one value for this parameter ?

According to the datasheet (Table 22-1) the following pins can be used as one-wire:
PE3 (5)
PG4 (5)
PG6 (5)
PG7 (5)
PP4 (4)
PP7 (5)

In the one wire driver, how do I control which port to use ?

Hi All,

It seems I made a huge mistake.

The TIVA I'm using is: TM4C1294NCPDT (and not TM4C129XNCZAD)
According to the datasheet of this chip, it does not have a 1-wire module.

Is it possible to implement 1-wire using a regular GPIO ?

Hello Zvi,

Yes, the 128 pin package device do not have a 1-wire master. So the only method is to implement using GPIO and timers in one-shot mode. Unfortunately, I do not have a working example but you may want to check the forum for an older thread. Else you may have to build one by yourself.

Hi Zvi, the software you pointed to is the hardware version, somewhere I am no more able to find there is another example timer based.
Example maybe in TIVA or on some other like Elektronica TIVA board examples, I remember two examples one hardware and one software.
I browsed again library no success..

I stumbled upon this Maxim app note when researching all things onewire. I haven't yet had the chance to try this out myself, but in a nutshell, you should be able to use any of the UART modules to provide the necessary timings (the baud rate is different for a bus reset / data transmission) - you'll then transmit and receive one UART byte for every onewire bit.
