Wireless signal strength RF detector capture RSSI

Hi,

I am trying to find a way to attain the signal strength to the wireless connection using a WIFI module (RSSI value). The module has to be connected to a micro controller, (EK: TM4C123GXL). Then I need to send the information to a computer connected via Bluetooth. I already have the bluetooth connection established and communicating with it serially.

Is this possible? and how can I go about attaining the RSSI value.

  • Hello Tashfique,

What module is being used and how is it accessed by TM4C123? Details alludes the post.

    Regards
    Amit
  • Details elude... (that's 2nd such note...elude - verb - to avoid or escape; allude - verb - to suggest or call attention to)

Words sound & visually appear very much alike - but (as shown) have (near) opposite meanings.   (I note here only due to 2nd misuse - and one earlier correction...)  Details eluded the post - they were not present - thus avoided or escaped presentation...  Allude suggests that details were present - not the case!

Post only barely/indirectly qualifies as Tiva related.

Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) is entirely a creation & function of the RF device. The extraction of such data - if available - should be properly detailed w/in the RF device's manual.    Kitchen sink style posts flourish - detract from the creation of proper App notes here - targeting "real" Tiva issues...

Minus properly detailed & example rich App Notes - hundreds of posts - most SO similar - arrive like clockwork.   Broadening the spectrum of responses - to those w/only the most minor of bearing upon Tiva - is NOT the way to correct this (long ongoing) forum weakness...  (i.e. hoisting a new sail - while the ship is sinking - makes little sense - focus may enable the "proper solution" of PF0/PD7 and hallowed 0-ohm Rs and multiple others...I2C, SPI, PWM in particular...)
