Regarding stack and heap

Hi Ti,

We are using TMS570LS3137.We want to know what will be the stack size and heap size we will get from TMS570LS3137 IC.Also How much we have to set in CCSv6.0.1 heap and stack value.THe default value is 0x800.Also In halocgen there is user stack length.

How much stack space and heap space we will get.How to calculate it.Please let us Know.

Assume that you are using CCS. Open the CCS project properties. Select "Basic Options" for the ARM Linker. You can configure the size of stack and heap for the project.

Hi Zhaohong,
Thanks for the information.I know there is an option in ccs,but how much is the maximum value we can set.Since TMS570ls3137 has 256k RAM so how much should be stack and heap size we will get.

Also there is setting in halocgen also to set for user stack length.What is the diiference bewteen CCS setting of stack and that of halcogen.

Pandurang,

Stacks are allocated for the local variables and Heap is for dynamically allocated memory in your application. You need to study your application to see the size of stack and heap needed. Halcogen configures the stack for different CPU modes.
