tms570ls0432 launchpad jumper settings

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS0432

hi ti,

in tms570ls0432 launchpad header J2 has MiBSPI1SOMI & MiBSPI1SIMO.

J9 has SPI1SIMO & J8 has SPI1SOMI pins with jumper settings.

if i want to use SPI1 which pins should i use? what is the purpose of that jumper?

i searched for the manual but i got only schematics and there is no details regarding that jumpers. if u have any manual for launchpad please share it.

  • Pavithra,

if you don't use the the SPI nENA pin in your scenario,  you can leave both pins in the upper position, if you hold the board as in the photo you uploaded above.
The black labels in the header pin-out are active then.

What if you want to use SPInENA in your setup:
If you also want to use the SPInENA signal, you can tap off both SPI1SOMI and SPI1ENA by
making a 3-pin female header connector, with a wire on pin 1 and 3.
You can put that connector in place of the J8, and both signals are available on the wires you just soldered.

You only need the SPInENA in particular configurations.

    • SPI 4-pin option with SPIENA
    • SPI 5-pin option with SPIENA and SPISCS

  • thanks for ur reply JAN!

i am little bit confused. i dont want to use SPIENA signal.
should i have to leave that jumper as it is or should i change that? please make it clear.

and what about that MiBSPI1SOMI & mIBSPI1SIMO pins? because MiBSPI and SPI are mulpilexed ryt? which pins should i use for SPI1? i m using SPI1 as master.

    thanks.
