EK-TM4C123GXL Switches

Hi jerry,

I actually wish they were named in the board by they GPIO pin instead of SW1 and SW2 :/
SW1 is connected to PF4, the other terminal of the button is connected to GND.
The SW2 is connected similarly to SW1 but it connects to PF0 (note this is a special care pin, you will need to unlock it).
I advise you to use TivaWare. It allows to program the Tiva in C with peripheral driver libraries.

Here is a very simple example in how to use SW1 to blink a LED:

I have a related question so I think it does worth it to be asked here:

As Luis said SW1 and SW2 are connected to PF0 and PF4 respectively. What about RESET? Could I somehow check if it is pressed? I have gone through the examples for EK-TM4C123GXL but cannot find an example.

And how would the uC check if the RST pin is pressed and the uC is in reset>

In the tivaware's hibernate example it is checked if the processor is waking from hibernation due to a button push or RTC match, otherwise it supposes that it is because of a hard reset. This seems to work, I am just wondering if we can directly check that the wakeup was due to the reset button.

Maybe I am totally mistaking the meaning of this example...

Excellent point. As you mentioned in TM4C123 the wake up is from button push or RTC match. When in hibernate mode the Core voltage is shut down and the IO's are isolated. With the core shut and IO's isolated it is not possible to get any signal into the design. Hence a wake from reset on TM4C123 is not possible. This is not the case for TM4C129 where additional sources of wakeup from hibernate is possible.

Hello Kimon,

By using an external circuit hardware like Latch you may still be able to do so once the uC comes up.
