3.3 V power on Hercules board

On the Hercules board are the 3.3 V power and ground, that can be found at connections 2 and 4 of J10, available immediately when the board is connected by USB cable to a PC and prior to loading any code in the microcontroller?

  • Hi Dan,
Can you please provide more details of the probelm you got? Which device, and which board are used in your case? If you use RM48 HDK, the pin 2 of J10 is GND, the pin 4 is nERROR pin. nERROR is ESM Error Signal which is used to indicate the error of high severity.
    regards,QJ
  • Hi QJ

The question isn't about which pads carry the 3.3V and gnd. That is clearly marked on the board. My question is about when the power is available.

    It's a Hercules RM42x.

  • If your Hercules board is a Hercules LaunchPad:
The 3.3V power is delivered via the regulator TPS70445PWP.
It will be up before the microcontroller executes its first line of code (on the LaunchPad, the controller is powered from that same regulator, so the lines have to be up before it starts executing) .
