USB_stick_update example program NOT powering the USB Thumb Drive

Hi,

I loaded the example code provided in the EK-TM4C1294XL folder named USB_stick_update into the MCU. Then loaded an 8 GigaByte capacity USB thumb drive with firmware .bin file FIRMWARE.BIN & inserted the same in the USB Host port of the TM4C1294XL eval kit but upon running the code, the USB thumb drive is NOT getting powered at all (there's a small LED on the USB thumb drive that lights up when the USB drive is powered, it isn't lighting up!!).

Can anyone tell me what could have been gone wrong? I tried loading the SD to USB copy function of TI-RTOS examples, those are working fine & the USB thumb drive is powered properly & working too!!!

The problem have been resolved.... It was due to some wrongly configured MCU port pin...

Out of curiosity: What configuration of the MCU Pin was not correct?

In my custom board, the MCU pin that is connected to IC TPS2051 pin 4 (ENABLE pin), is actually from a different pin of Tiva C MCU than what is used in EK-TM4C1294XL eval kit. I forgot to re-map the digital output pin.

If I would have opened the datasheet & gone through it entirely then it would have taken much longer time to develop the entire solution, rather I chose that whenever I'll get stuck I'll hunt for solution(s) by sectional isolation of the part/region causing the issue. I found out that the later method proved to be much time efficient.

But I still agree to your point, reading the datasheet fully will definitely help at the expense of some additional time duration. I go through datasheet(s) when I am completely new to a development environment, not in the middle of something. :-)
