I think its a silly question but...

what would be the best tool for debugging the TMS570Ls1115 MCU?? or which tool could I use to program and debug the code?

As a starting point, I will have a look at the following page.

You will see a list of option available from TI or third parties.

The TI solution is Code Composer Studio. Here is the main page: .

TI provides also a range of development boards with build in Debug access.

I was wondering about the JTAG tool that I could use for that, more than the compiler. Im planning to use the CCS

Miguel,

If you are using one of our HDK or Launch pad board, the JTAG tool is integrated.

If you are designing your own board and only want to use and external JTAG pod, than you have to look to one of our third parties options.

The cheapest solution is the XDS100V2, available from Spectrum Digital, Blackhawk and many other.

More performance can be achieve with more expensive solution but still affordable like XDS200.

Just to comment - the XDS200 is very reasonably priced but you also need to plan on purchasing a CCS license to go with. For Hercules only the XDS100 class emulators are enabled w. the free CCS license.

Hi!
I was looking at the device, the XDS100 and the MCU, and find something... the MCU has only 7 JTAG pins (TEST, nTRST, RTCK, TCK, TDI, TDO, TMS)... what happen with the other 7?

Which one whould I use? the 14 TMDSEMU100V2U-14T pin of the 10 pin TMDSEMU100V2U-ARM??
