TMX5700714PGEQQ1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012, TMS570LS0714

I am writing here because I do not know who to ask. I was given the task to develop CAN-switch 1-to-6. For project realization is ideal microcontroller TMX5700714PGEQQ1. But, as I understand it, it is in the testing phase and is not available as a sample or to buy. How to know when will be available TMX5700714PGEQQ1 serial product?

  • Hello Audrey,

I am forwarding your questions to one of our product managers so they can give you more specific information regarding the availability of that specific part number for both sampling and production release.

Also, you can go to this link www.ti.com/.../samplebuy and you should be able to request samples. The page is showing that there are 15 units in stock so you should be able to get a few parts to begin your development with.

From a development board point of view, you could purchase either the TMS570LS12x HDK (www.ti.com/.../tmdx570ls12hdk) or the TMS570LS12x LaunchPad Evaluation Kit (www.ti.com/.../launchxl2-tms57012). Both of these boards have devices on them that are software and pin compatible to the 0714. In fact, if you wanted, you could replace the devices on the boards with the 0714. The HDK is a full featured development board including CAN transceivers. The Launchpad has most of the device pins/features accessible through the available connectors or customer installed edge connectors (PCB holes available for customer add on) but it does not include CAN trancievers which would need to be added through the holes along the edges.
  • Audrey,

Plan is for TMS570LS0714 to be released to production by end of this year.  If you are planning to go to production in 1Q16 or later, you should be fine.  As Chuck mentions you can get samples today.  One further comment on the development boards - The TMDX570LS12HDK uses the 337BGA package (ZWT), the LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 uses the 144QFP package (PGE).  Either can be used as Chuck mentions, I just wanted you to be aware if you really did want to swap out the device.  From a software perspective, that really shouldn't be necessary - just make sure you aren't using features that aren't on the TMS570LS0714.

    Hope it helps,

    Roy

  • Thank you very much for your reply.
15 available chips are made in wrong package (LQFP 100) and has just 2 CAN interfaces. TMX5700714PGEQQ1 has LQFP 144 package and has 3 CAN interfaces and 4 SPI blocks.
But for my device really can be use TMS570LS11xx, TMS570LS12xx, TMS570LS21xx or TMS570LS31xx. And they are available to order. Thanks for your advice.
  • Hi Andrey,

I'm glad that you were able to find some device part numbers that match your needs. If you still would like to stick with the 144pin LQFP of the TMS570LS0714 part number, I believe you will still be able to order some samples by clicking on the request samples button even though it is showing no inventory. If the response you get from the TI Store is that they are on backorder or unavailable, let me know and I will check with the program manager since I think he has some available and we may be able to directly ship them to you as a backup plan.
  • Thank you, I will to have in view, but I am completely satisfied with the replacement.
