    Hello Susanne/Lars,

    The Hercules family of MCUs have grown from an older line (TMS370, TMS470R1x, TMS470P) of microcontrollers used primarily in the automotive industry with some industrial use cases. Many of these older devices are still being shipped today to our original customers 15 and 20 years later.

    Although I can't specifically make any commitments to the production lifespan of the device in this forum, I can state that there is a track record of long production life >>10years. I can also state that there are automotive customers using these same devices in new designs that require a long supply/production commitment.

    If there is a specific production longevity need, I would suggest you contact us through your local TI support office so we can begin a conversation of a commitment. If there is no local support office or contact, let me know and we can make other arrangements through private messaging in this forum.
