Error in SPNU499B SCI section 27.

Figures 26.1 for SCI2/LIN and 27.1 for SCI which show the programming models for each device are completely identical, down to the register bits. However, the former is a superset of SCI since it includes additional LIN capabilities. I found this while trying to augment the SCI test demonstrated in the video at with an SCI2/LIN test. My first pass did not work since the default HALCoGen files don't seem to either work with SCI channel or work with it. But I'm trying to track that down. I'm using the LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 for my testing at this point.

    Not sure if I get the issue that you are pointing to with Halcogen. But yes SCI/LIN is a super set which can be configured to work as intended compared to the other.

  • Sorry for being unclear. I addressed two issues.

    The first issue was that the REGISTER diagrams for both the SCI and SCI2/LIN ports in SPNU499B are identical - both use the SCI2/LIN diagram and therefore cannot be correct for the SCI port.

    The second issue is that when I duplicated the instructions for the SCI2/LIN port test program in the video but instead did the steps for the SCI port, it did not work (even though I did make the code changes to address the differences. This was answered in another post.  I also did not expect the link to the YouTube video to be expanded inside my post.
