Hello,

I am trying to find the correct settings to read an analog input from a pin on the Hercules TMS470M development board, but am unsure of how do go about doing so.

Could anybody point me to documentation for this board containing API documentation, pinout diagrams, or sample code? I have searched in the technical documents page of the Hercules TMS470M MCU page and have followed TI video tutorials, but have not had any luck.

Which analog input are you trying to read? How is the ADC setup done? You should use HALCoGen to create a code project for this.

Hi Sunil,

Sorry, I am quite new to using this board.

I would like to read values from a sensor external to the Hercules board, but I am unsure of which pin on the board I can attach it to. Because of this, I don't know which ADC pins to enable in HALCoGen, and which channel to read from when performing the ADC conversion.

Hi Ryan,

The ADC input channels are all on connector J9 of the HDK.

You can identify the channel numbers from the schematic page 14.

There is a temperature sensor on the board connected to ADIN8 as well as a light-intensity sensor connected to ADIN9. You can use any of the other available channels for the sensor that you want to connect.
