CAN BUS Communication Without Interrupts

You might not know it yet, but you actually do want to use the CAN interrupts. It's easier that way. If interrupts scare you, now's the time to take the bull by the horns - you can't run from them forever when playing in microcontroller land!

Hi Veikko, I have a very good understanding of interrupts and know how to implement the CAN bus logic via interrupts. Problem is that I want to use CAN bus without interrupts as its the requirement in my project. So Kindly could you please send me some code for that. Thanks

I'm intrigued - what would impose such a requirement? I don't have any code for interrupt-less CAN - and have no ambition to develop any, I just can't see the need for it! But perhaps you could implement the logic using "soft interrupts" - ie. querying the interrupt registers manually. Registers 34 and 35 look like a good place to start, for example.

I will agree with Veikko. CAN without interrupt is painful, so would "strongly" urge to use the interrupt method. The following post was with a forum user on CAN w/o interrupts and as you can see it took time for us to close this thread
