I2C with TPS2483

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HALCOGEN

Hi,

In Halcogen, I enabled the i2c  driver and fixed the pinmux conflicts. In i2c port do i need set the directions to output and enable open drain while removing the pull up? or do I not need to set any of those? Thank you

  • Hello Edwin,

After adjusting the pinmux configuration to bring the I2C functional pins out to the physical pins, there shouldn't be any need to configure the IO characteristics unless you use the pins as GIO only. When used in their functional mode the IO configuration is taken care of. However, note that I2C requires a external pullup resistors on SCL and SDA since the internal pulls are not strong enough.
