I am using a TMS570 MDK and I want to start with a basic CAN protocol. Could you please suggest me a link to get the CAN code for TMS570LS20xx and also any .pdf for the procedures to follow. That would be great. Thank you.

Hello Aniketh,

A basic low level CAN driver is supplied with HALCoGen.
There are also CAN driver examples, you can find those under: Help --> Examples

To start with CAN I would suggest to read articles about CAN, you should be able to find dozens in the internet.
A good reference is the CAN poster from Vector Informatic: vector.com/vi_infomaterial_orderlist_charts_de.html

The examples are described in the Help File.

This description should be good enough to get a very basic CAN communication up and running.
However, it does not handle specific (higher level) CAN protocols, such as CANopen or AUTOSAR.

You can find the 1 Day Workshop material in our Wiki, this covers some basics about can the DCAN controller used on all Hercules devices.

Dear Mr.Herget,

I have followed the instructions from the HalCoGen Help--> examples and copied the code to main.c. These are the errors I found. I did not change the code even a bit. Kindly do suggest me.

Hello Aniketh,

For some reason the compiler thinks, that you are declaring functions instead of calling them.
It seems that lines 29 to 41 are outside of a function body.
