Communicate with microcontroller from a stand-alone software

Hello dear experts,

I want to communicate with the TI microcontroller (Hercules RM RM46L852) from a stand-alone or customized software (for example Developed in Java or C#).
Please guide me to understand that type of communication.

Hello:

Could you provide more details? How are you planning to communicate with the microcontroller (JTAG, UART, SPI...)? Do you mean communication between a PC and the microcontroller?

Thank you for your enquiry,
First, I am planning to communicate using the USB. Second, Yes, I mean communication between the PC and the microcontroller.

The goal is I am allowing the client to deal with a custom/stand-alone software, not the Code Composer Studio (CCS) because it is a not suitable for the client to communicate through the big CCS environment and it is a development environment. THIS IS the pain!

Can I provide a communication from a stand-alone software? Or is there a an already established method, non-CCS or maybe part of it, that provides simpile user-interface for the client?

Please note the above link you gave is dealing with CCS, not a stand-alone software. It is still based on CCS using HALCoGen. Please read my details very well.

Hello:

I don't get your point. The provided example uses HALCoGen and CCS as development tools, that doesn't mean you need to use them for communication. Once you have the connection between the RM48 device and the PC, and the device is recognized by Windows, then you can develop any required application for the RM48 (still using CCS or your preferred development environment) and a stand alone application on the PC side to handle the communication.
