Hercules Development Kit TMS570LS31x Installation problem

I have a board identification E189010. I have installed the CC s/w (selecting all options) and development kit s/w. When I plug in the USB lead two device drivers 'Dual RS232-HS' try to install but are not found. The MCS Demo fails to find the board. I have another board also designated E189010 but bought at an earlier time which does not appear to need these drivers and the board installs and works on the same PC. The boards appear identical, they have the same dip switch settings and the same LEDs light when they are powered.

Could you post a picture of your board so I can see which one you are using?

My PC is 64 bit and runs windows 7 Enterprise +SP1

On close inspection when I power up the communicating board the white LED designated LED 2 lights. It LED 2 doesn't light on the non-communicating board.
I know the communicating board talks to the PC because I can download a program to the board using code composer. During and after download LED 2 is off.

I searched the wider TI community and found link to processors.wiki.ti.com/.../EVMK2H_Hardware_Setup. My non-communicating board successfully picked up the drivers. And displayed Virtual com ports in the device manager although the USB controllers created did not specifiy XDS100. Running MCS Demo reported two boards but both were "Non Assigned"

If I understand, in the device manager you don't see the following:

TI XDS100 Channel A
TI XDS100 Channel B

This is true for your 2 boards? Please confirm.

When and where did you ordered these boards?

I have to send you an utility to check the FTDI on your boards.

1] With only 1 board connected to your PC via USB, run this application.
2] Select Devices Scan and Parse.
3] This is what you should see:
