TMS570LC4357 analog to digital converter tracking

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LC4357

Are there any specifications detailing the error between the two analog to digital converters of the TMS570LC4357?  The Total unadjusted error is specified to be +/-4 LSB after calibration.  Does that mean the error between the two converters could be up to 8 LSB?

  • Hello Tom,

Unfortunately, we do not have any specifications of the nature that you ask. From a specification point of view, it is safest to assume the delta between the two could be in the 8 LSB range as one could be +4 and the other -4. However, from a practical point of view, the error/offset is generally a result of variation in process (silicon properties), supply voltage and/or temperature. Given both are located on the same die (same silicon properties), at relatively the same temperature, and relatively the same voltage; both should be fairly close. The primary differences will be due to bond wire properties, voltage drops internally, and potentially due to noise from the external circuitry (trace lengths, vias, etc.).
