Might this begin by stating that you cannot?

You may place "hurdles" in front of attackers - but you cannot "protect" your code from smart, well equipped, determined hackers!

There do exist MCUs which are much more hardened - and resistant - to attack.    And - as one would expect - these are far more expensive than those here.

Getting to market quickly - with best/brightest feature set - effective promotion - and dedication to constant improvement - usually far better serves to "protect" your Sales & Cash flow...

  • please tell me the steps how i have to do the read protection for the flash in TIVA c series?
My objective is i need to dump the and execute the bin file into the flash. It can not read by others.
    How can i do this?
  • Hello Surendran

Actually 1 step only: read the data sheet for FMPPE and FMPRE in Internal Memory Section and the feature of JTAG Lock in BOOTCFG. As cb1 mentioned, you can only harden the hack on a generic uC (be it MSP or TM4C).

  • Please tell me the function call i am using TM4C123GH6PGE microcontroller.I need to lock the read conditions in the flash.
I have a small doubt. which concept i have to follow i.e Memory protection unit (MPU)or Flash set up function calls to do the program?
  • As past stated - and repeated here by Amit - your effort is quickly/easily defeated by any skilled, well equipped hacker.

Your reality - most such MCU "Protection schemes" (this vendor and most all others) succeed ONLY in protecting your code from yourself!    You will inevitably, "Lock yourself out from your own code!!!"

As "Poetic Justice" - you may then contact nearby "hacker" to access your (protected) code - should you not have a correct/recent copy!

As you so often express "doubt" - might a visit to Google - targeting "Secure MCUs" - prove the best, "doubt extractor?"
