Online Testing RM48L952

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: RM48L952

Hi,

We are looking at online testing (periodic testing) of the diagnostics systems within the RM48L952 device.

We have found the SafeTI diagnostics library and are looking through the code.

Is it correct that we link the SafeTI diagnostics library to our application and then call the various SL_xxx functions at intervals in our code?

If this is the case, how safe is the SafeTI library? Just a cursory look at the code there does not seem to be any solid code standard, lots of #if's without #else, etc.

Has anyone used SafeTI in their applications? What were your thoughts?

Cheers

Stomp!

  • Stomp,

I've requested safeTi library development team to help on this.
  • Hello,please find suggestions below:
    >> Is it correct that we link the SafeTI diagnostics library to our application and then call the various SL_xxx functions at intervals in our code?
GG> Yes, you can do that. The SafeTI Hitex Safety Kit illustrates the use of diagnostics using the SafeTI Hercules Diagnostic library in this manner. You can find additional details at www.hitex.com/index.php.
    >> If this is the case, how safe is the SafeTI library? Just a cursory look at the code there does not seem to be any solid code standard, lots of #if's without #else, etc.
GG> We follow an internal software process compliant to the ISO26262 - upto ASIL-D and IEC61508 - upto SIL-3 - functional safety standards. This process is certified by TUEV NORD - you can find the certificate here: http://www.ti.com/lit/spnq003.
In addition to this, we provide a Compliance Support Package - this is a set of documentation and tools which helps you as a customer of the SafeTI Hercules Diagnostic Library verify that the artifacts and processes relevant to the ISO26262/IEC61508 standards were created/followed in the development of the library. You can download an evaluation version of the CSP at www.ti.com/.../safeti-hercules-diag-lib-csp.
    >> Has anyone used SafeTI in their applications? What were your thoughts?
GG> I will leave this one for the community to answer. Thanks and regards,
