End-of-life of Tiva C MCU

Hi,

Like stellaris MCU (which might have been discontinued by TI by now), is there any estimate we can get on Tiva C MCU about its end of life. We at our end is trying to implement Tiva C MCUs on many more products to come, so its expected by us to know something about the end-of-life prediction of the device. Can it be said at least for how many years Tiva C MCus will be produced by TI?

Thanks

Regards

  • Within the past 2-3 days - nearly your exact question has been well answered by vendor's, David Maples.

To meet your goal of, "know something" it may prove wise to, "Search this forum."

In addition - to his frank & fair report - it is always your option to, "Buy forward."    (purchase in advance of your projected needs - this additionally guards against currency fluctuations - which may operate in - or against - your favor...)

  • Hello Soumyajit,

The link cb1 was talking about.

Note that no vendor will guarantee a date.... Mktg will always state it will be available for the long time and we have a new product for you...

  • Hi Amit,

May I confirm Amit's statement re: vendor reluctance to announce a, "hard date."    Our firm purchases ARM MCUs in quantity from 4 such vendors - and just as Amit states - no "hard/fast" availability is guaranteed.

Again - buying forward - either in currencies or electronic components - provides a classic hedge against unplanned/unwanted "interruptions."

  • Hello cb1,

Absolutely. Sufficiency in inventory is a sure guard band against fluctuation.
