lmusbdll - WDK 8.0

Hi,

is there a lmubsdll outthere that is currently running WDK 8.0? Because the current version of that programm run WDK 6.0, and when trying to build the lmusbdll project all sort of include errors appear, it is a real mess. Futhermore, some files aren't the same anymore.

In WDK 6.0, there is a file call winusb.h but in WDK 8.0 only got a winusb.lib is avaiable, same goes for winapifamily.h that doesnt exist in WDK 8.0

  • Hello Mathieu

I can check the same (but it will be considerable time before I can come with an answer). The best resource may be asking the question at MSDN. I am trying to get USB expert "Tsuneo Chenzei" to respond to the same but not been able to get a response from him so far.

  • Hi, I manage to resolve the major issues.

The solution is pretty awful IMO. If you just install wdk 8.0 , you will be missing files from the experience I just got. So I return to the WDK website and find out if you want to usb WDK 8.1. You MUST use Visual Studio 2013.

So I got Visual Studio 2013 professionnal, it was avaiable to my programm student. After that, I install WDK 8.1. When I opened the project everything got linked together correctly. However, it isn't a final fix. Now I need to resolve some include problem.

    [EDIT]

Finaly, to build the project you need to go in Visual Studio 2013 into project -> lmusbdll properties -> linker -> Input -> Additional Dependencies and write:

    setupAPI.lib;winusb.lib

  • Hello Mathieu

Since you are the front runner on this post and topic, I would ask of you to out the step-by-step to guide the rest of us looking to do the same

  • Hi,

the main thing that need to be verified is " Can you get all the proper files when you install WDK 8.1 alone?" Because I only get winusb.h and winapifamily.h by installing Visual Studio 2013.
