Quite Off Topic, possible security alert

This is not TIVA related but I encourage all are using Winzz to check if this is real issue and ask to have alternate support on other platform too like Apple and other unix or unix like (Linux) OSes.

It was known from the past,  but if this is real appear as the worst privacy violation we seen.

  • Hi,

Such process is somewhat started - see this link if you are interested.

Hi Petrei, I know about that and I appreciate a lot, I am using CCS on Linux and is more and more better than on Winzz, choice was on good laptop due apple was too much expensive, but I remember old time when I was using IAR on 68K based workstation or unix one, when I was using professional software on expensive high end workstation or on mainframe, it is time to return again on a good platform not plagued by single choice (worst) monopoly.

Software of the past was more simple but better, today has so many frill one never can use but not the same quality due to complexity .

  • Hello Petrei

And how does this Win10 updated link to CCS for Mac?

Hi Petrei, I admit your answer is due to my writing fault.

I was asking all are using development platform other than CCS is multiplatform to start ask have support at almost on Apple but Linux (IMHO BSD too ) are much more appreciated.

I suppose if this is true is a big threat to infringe Industrial and intellectual property.

I.E: I can like see Altium on Linux/Apple, IAR, KEIL, other never ported.

I am using on Linux: CCS, Freescale, Altera Quartus, other I found have support.

  • Hi Roberto,

I am using (at home) GCC + Eclipse + OpenOCD on MAC - no problems so far (same is on Linux). As about tools on Apple, seems that more and more applications are available for this UNIX certified OS - NXP has a special tool set available on all platforms, based on GCC+Eclipse and their own gdb driver similar to openocd (is based on Code Red, since this was aquired by NXP).

Similar, a multi-platform tools is mbed (www.mbed.org)-  Keil based, and accessible within the browser, huge number of available boards, from all known Cortex-M3/M4 providers, (except TI)

On TI site, (compiler) was a thread (several years ago) asking for tools for MAC...

  • Hello Petrei

Does not the cloud support for the CCS transcend OS'es?

    Regards
    Amit
  • I don't use CCS so this is mostly curiousity. How do you do a commandline build if CCS is hosted in the "cloud"?

    Robert
  • Hello Robert

It is not command line built in the cloud. It saves the download of CCS to the local machine and replaces it with a smaller download.

    Amit
  • So a small executable that can be scripted from the command line that passes information and files back and forth to the cloud application?

    Robert
  • Hello Robert,

Not sure. May be CCS forum would know about it. I tried my hands on the Cloud CCS, but didn't have the feel of raw IDE to me

    Regards
    Amit
  • Out of curiosity I looked at the product and read the FAQ. It seems apparent from that there is no way to run it from the command line (and it explicitly does not allow integration of other tools).

That pretty much relegates it to toy status for me, even w/o considering availability concerns and the ability to run particular compiler versions. They more or less admit to that stating it's really only met for evaluating processors rather than as a development tool.
