Does ERIKA Enterpirse RTOS compatible with Hercules MCU-

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS570LS3137, TMS570LS20216

I would like to know if the ERIKA RTOS is compatible with Hercules MCU- I have TMS570LS3137 MC.

http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/microcontrollers_16-bit_32-bit/c2000_performance/safety/tms570/tools_software.page#timehttp://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/microcontrollers_16-bit_32-bit/c2000_performance/safety/tms570/tools_software.page#time

The link above doesn't mention about the above mention RTOS.

Does that RTOS have inbuilt CAN Driver in it. Or should I write the driver??

I have to interface the MCU to PC(acting as simulator) via CAN Bus

Thanks in advance

  • As you have most likely seen in the pages you provided links to, he ERIKA RTOS is not listed as an RTOS that supports the Hercules family of microcontrollers. What this means is that we are not aware of any efforts to add support for the TMS570 or RM4x devices as supported devices. Since ERIKA RTOS is an open source RTOS, perhaps it might be worthwhile to ask the open source community if anyone has done the port already and would be willing to share. Unfortunately, TI cannot support any issues related to this RTOS as it is not one that we have any experience with.
  • The latest release from May 27, 2015 shows support for Cortex-R4F based TMS570LS20216 MCUs. See erika.tuxfamily.org/.../index.php

This port states that it is developed for the Keil MCBTMS570 development board. You can use this port for other Cortex-R4F based Hercules MCUs, as long as there are no specific features that rely on running on the Keil MCBTMS570 board.
