We have a problem with flashing tm4c1231e6pz MCU with Spectrum Digital XDS510 USB emulator. Nonetheless, we have a Sauris gmbh XDS510 USB Lite emulator also and it works fine. Problem is that we can connect to MCU, see memory, change values, but can't flash a program into it. When we choose "Load program" and select .out file, progress window just hungs for undefinite time. I've read

but have not found the solution.

Could you help us anyhow, please?

Hello Uladzimir,

So connection of the device and the emulator is not an issue, since you are able to connect to the device properly. Is that correct?

Can you check the settings of the emulator, e.g. is it using RTCK, what is the TCK frequency?

Hello Amit.
Yes, connection works, but with other emulators. We've tried Blackhawk XDS560 PCI also and it works, so the problem is not in schematics. Settings of specrum digital xds510 are: TCK frequency - 10 MHz, TMS/TDO output timing - falling edge, TCK divisor/Adaptive TCK delay - 1, TCK mode - Counter Mode

Please do not keep it in adaptive clocking and reduce the speed to 1MHz to begin with. Since the emulator does not connect can you check the pin out first of the emulator and schematic.

The run the "Test Connection" utility for CCS to see if the emulator connects well.

Test Connection works, result: Found 1 device(s) in the scan chain. I ment, that emulator connects, sees MCU memory, but can't flash it.

Yes, I tried it on 10, 15 and 1 MHZ. The result was always the same: found 1 device in the scan chain, IR length 4.

Here is what I got from Spectrum Digital specialists:

Here are the comments from our emulator expert:

Do not have a C123 but the same thing shows up on a C129.

When setting up your target configuration in CCS set the TCK Divisor/Adaptive TCK Delay to 4.

Looks like this device is probably TCK limited or may just need slower TCK to meet some internal Flash timing delays imposed by TI.

Note: XDS200 emulators are best for the TM4Cxxxx type devices as NO driver updates are being made for XDS510 Class

Actually, I didn't manage to solve the problem with this advice, so the issue is open. It seems to me better not to use XDS510USB with TIVA.
