Reading a data sheet



There have on occasion been some people who have had trouble reading a data sheet. To help those who wish to learn more I'm passing along some references.

Troubleshooting Analog Circuits by Robert A. Pease - The experienced among us will recognize him as a design Guru from National. I stumbled across a copy of this and it looks like I will have to add it to my library.  It has an appendix on reading data sheets and covers why what you think is tested might be different from what is actually tested. He's usually a good read but I haven't spent enough time with this to whole heartedly recommend it.

     I never forget this and still this is my preferred language too, SMD just get thing more difficult but help a lot with fast devices so I can do some better devices. If I found where it is I can post a picture of my prototype of line driver soldered to a small 3.5mm jack socket all smd based. Soldering art got another way expressive but my age is limiting me too much. ;)

     After simulating real test must be run and all parasitic and real parameter has to be understood. Raising frequency this is more difficult lump and simulated get far from real distributed parameter.
