Hello,
I have been recently working with the piccolo series motorware and InstaSPiN software for permanent magnet motor control. For reliability reasons we decided to move to the Hercules series and I wonder if there is any good way to transfer the program we already work with from the piccolo series to the hercules one.
I looked over the Hercules series and I have noticed that they do support some type of sensorless control. Indeed I have found a project called TMS570LS1227_sensored_speed_smo (we are going to work with the TMS570LS1227 microcontroller) that do use sensorless control but the structure have nothing to do with the one used in the piccolo series. No Hardware Abstaction Layer and the driver functions are not compatible. I have not found much information about it either. And I have noticed that such project although uses sensorless control, it also uses encoder control for low speeds and I wonder if there is any way to get rid of it. I also wonder if such sensorless control have the same capabilities as the ones the piccolo series and InstaSPiN can offer. Apart from such project I have not found anything else that could be useful for our purpuse (there is another project but it is for brushless dc motor).
I hope you can help me out a bit with those questions. Thanks
Javier
