FMEA with TMS570LS04

As part of an FMEA for a system using a TMS570LS04, I need to determine the effects of opening a single VCC or VSS or VCCIO pin.

Do the rest of the pins take up the slack, or is each pin an independent source for a portion of the silicon relying on the PCB for continuity among the pins?

Also, what effects will there be if the FLTP pins are shorted hi or lo?

Thanks

  • Hi Donald,

All the VCC pins are connected together to the power grid inside the die. Likewise for VSS. All the VCCIO pins are connected in the IO frame. So having one open will not be a big problem in my opinion especially in the 144PGE package where there are more power pins compared to say 100PZ package.

FLTP pins are used to supply test voltage to test the flash banks/pump during test mode. This means that the software will also need to place the flash banks/pump in test mode in order for the voltages on FLTP pins to have effect.
