I developed my own board for debugging and programming my TM4C123GH6PZ uC with FTDI FT2232D. I have some problems. Firstly I did exactly what it is said in Stellaris-ICDI programming wiki page. In this page there is a guide for EEPROM programming for using FTDI device with Stellaris Development Kit. My FT2232D schematic is

After USB connection with my board, I can see com ports and USB Serial Converters like in pic I mentioned

In FT_Prog program I loaded ICDI.xml file for EEPROM configuration to create Stellaris ICDI com port . But after I loaded icdi.xml file mentioned in Stellaris ICDI wiki page, I couldnt see my EEPROM anymore in FT_Prog. After I change EEPROM on board I saw it again but again after reloaded icdi.xml file it disappeared again.

What am I doing wrong in here ? Any help will be great for me because It is the only starting point of this board.

Hello Serkan,

Can you share the ICDI xml file? I know another forum post which had a similar issue and it was due to incorrect xml file. You may want to search the same.

I downloaded file from processors.wiki.ti.com/.../File:Icdi.zip. I changed only <Type> FT2232D/C </Type> section to <Type> FT2232D</Type>. Otherwise It generates an error.

Hello Serkan,

Please check the following post. I am not sure as to the content of the ICDI xml on wiki , as I mostly setup the FTDI using my own XML file (of course I cannot share the same, but will do check the ICDI.xml)

Hello Amit

Thanks for referring. I looked your refferring posting and cheched the .xml file mentioned in that post. Your suggesstion helped her/she by changing bus/self powered section to reversing configuration. I tried it too. But It didnt work with me. I dont know where I do wrong but after programming my eeprom registers does not change correctly like in picture.

While waiting - might a thorough search of FTDI's site - keyed to your exact device - prove useful?

Iirc that dual FTDI device required different treatment of the EEProm - based upon FTDI's device revision. One suspects such detail is better gleaned from FTDI.

Further - past Stellaris LM3S811 Eval included the original dual FTDI device along w/first run EEProm code.

xds100v2 seems a better solution, as it provides all you need to build such tool.

Thanks for suggestion. I know I can solve this problem by using JTAG emulator but I need to connect to my MCU both with FTDI JTAG and JTAG emulator.

Hello Everyone

I solved my problem. I want to share my experience with this integration.

Firstly I created my own EEPROM Configuration with M-Prog. I dont know why but my EEPROM was not configurred with FT_Prog even if same config with M-Prog. After configuration my com port seemmed as an USB Com Port.

I understand that LM_Flash programmer automatically detects which device is connected to COM4(Stellaris In Curcuit Debugger). Thats why I needed to change my Com port number from advanced settings to COM4. After unlocking JTAG pins, I was able to program my MCU with FTDI in both LM Flash and CCS.

Hello Serkan

You may want to check with FTDI folks, if FTProg is replaced by MProg.
