TI 14 pin to ARM 20 pin converter

Hello.

We have a XDS100v2 Jtag probe with a TI 14 pin connector, that we used a TMS320F micro-controller.

Now we received, from a partner of ours, a board that they developed with a TMS570LS on it and we need to connect to it to upload a new software version.

On the board an ARM 20 pin connector is available to connect the probe.

I read on XDS100v2 specifications that it can be also used on all ARM micro-controllers, that is the case of TMS570LS.

Now the pin names for the TI 14 and the ARM 20 connectors are exactly the same and only the pinout changes.

Except for the pinout, are the TI 14 and the ARM 20 connectors fully compatible?

I mean: if I build a cable that converts the pinout from the TI 14 to the ARM 20, will it work?

You need an adapter. Take a look at the following link to pick the one that is right for you.

I did a little bit more research and you could build your own cable and it should work. Also, one good option would be to get the XDS200 Debug Probe (www.ti.com/.../tmdsemu200-u). It's not expensive and already includes the required adapters.

Just only another question: I suppose that the pins that have the same or similar name should be connected one each other.
So, I suppose that the conversion cable should be done as follows:

TI 14 pin <----> ARM 20 pin

TMS <----> SWDIO / TMS
nTRST <----> nTRST
TDI <----> TDI
TDIS
VTRef <----> VTRef
KEY
TDO <----> SWO / TDO

But what about the pins that have different names?
There will be some pins, both on TI14 and on ARM20 connector, that will remain disconnected.
Please remember that I only need to upload the new software version.
