SCI2 on HDK not working on LINRX(A7) but works on USB through FTDI

TI Team, 

I am working with the TI HDK utilizing the TMS570LS31 for uart communication to a windows PC.  The FTDI port works fine however when I try to use the same LIN peripheral as SCI utilizing the A7 and B7 pins the peripheral does not receive data.  From looking at the schematic this should work fine and the peripheral should be configured correctly if it is working through virtual serial.  Is there a jumper or dip switch or resistor change that needs to be made ?  Or am I simply missing something.
