Tiva C Series with Sensor Hub not running

Hello Team,

I got the Launchpad (TM4C123G) and the sensor hub booster pack. LM Flash programmer fails to run as it isn't able to find the device:

The odd thing is that D1 LED on the Sensor board is lid red. It looks like a minor HW issue. Any input?

Hi Natallia,

Have you installed Stellaris ICDI drivers for your Tiva Launchpad? Do you see Stellaris ICDI drivers at your Device Manager while your Tiva Launchpad + Sensor Hub Booster Pack is connected?

Hello Kel,

Thank you for your response. Stellaris ICDI drivers are installed properly. Yes, I see them in my device manager as described here: www.ti.com/.../spmu287c.pdf

I still have the following error message: 'Error Unable to initialize target - 0'

Hi Natallia,

Did your Tiva Launchpad work before with any example programs? Do you remember any activity that might have caused this problem besides programming it with example programs for Tiva Launchpad + Sensor Hub Booster Pack.

With just your Tiva Launchpad, use the LM Flash Programmer Debug Port Unlock Utility. If successful Debug Port Unlock, program a simple Tiva Launchpad example program like blinky. If the blinky example program works, then you have recovered your board.

Afterwards, try the example programs for Tiva Launchpad + Sensor Hub Booster Pack.

Hello Natallia,

What does the Window Device Manager show when the LaunchPad is connected? Also was this the first time the LaunchPad was powered on? Did you check if the LaunchPad in standalone w/o the Booster Pack shows up correctly in Windows Device Manager?

The device manager shows figure 22 from the document I listed above. Drivers are fine. Launchpad shows correctly. Yes, It is the first time try to program it. D1 on the Booster pack is ON (red LED). Booster pack User's Guide doesn't mention what it means, but I suspect incorrect HW behavior.

Do you know what D1 is there for?

Hello Natallia,

The Sensor Hub LED D1 indicates that the 1.8V supply from the on board TPS75118 is ON. I would first disconnect the Sensor Hub Booster Pack from the launchpad to see if the LaunchPad is working. BTW there is no Figure "22".

Thank you for your help. Turns out I did not have the jumper on VDD on the Launchpad.

The VDD jumper must have been pre installed on the LaunchPad
