Hi,

I have some queries regarding PWM operating frequency. My Actuators response time is 10 ms On time and 10 ms OFF time. What will be the suitable PWM frequency to Control the actuator. Am intended to use IRF540 for the switching purpose. will it work. datasheet of actuator attached2185.Norgren flatprop eqp valve.pdf

you want to control the actuator with a PWM signal

according to your specifications must be a sign of 20ms period (assuming that the actuator response is immediate).

if you want to know how to configure the PWM Hercules, feel free to ask!

I have not worked with an actuator as you show, but I think you can use the cycle dutty taken to control the amount of pressure, it's about you Realize some previous test.

The IRF540 is a MOSFET pretty fast and handles large amount of current, so I do not think averie when exite your actuator.

The objective of using PWM signal (Duty Cycle) is to control the Flow (pressure and flow are inter dependent) from 0 to 100% with different duty cycle input to the driver from RM48.

There is an example program in Halcogen to set PWM duty cycle through HET1 or HET2. already i checked it is working fine.

But my objective is to vary to the duty of the PWM signal during the run time of the program. How it will be done. through interrupts??. i did not worked in interrupt concepts so far.

yep, can work through interruptions:
- First you set the time you want the dutty cycle must vary.
example: every 5 seconds 1% increase or decrease the dutty cycle.

To do this, you can use the module Real Time Interruption (RTI) of the MCU.
