TMS570LS31HDK Tools

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CODECOMPOSER, UNIFLASH, HALCOGEN, TMS570LS3137

Hi All,

Recently I purchased TMS570LS31HDK board.

It is working fine with TI ARM Compiler. I want to make to run using GNU cross compiler for ARM like linaro.
I am facing issues in little/big endian compatibility.

So please let me know how to build image of ARM using GNU tool chain for TMS570LS31HDK board?

Where can I get the details regarding the tools/softwares required for the above board?

Has any body used the above boarding with DS-5?

Thanks and Regards

  • Hello Sridhar,

The board should have came with a CD with the tool installation files on it. However, since this board has been in production for quite a while, these tools are generally of date with respect to their versions and in the case of the stand alone programmer, the tool on the CD has been deprecated altogether and replaced. Here is a list of tools to get you started:

CodeComposer v 6.1 (CCSv6.1) - The TI IDE which is free when using the XDS100v2 debug probe included on the HDK
Uniflash v3.4 - Stand alone flash programmer tool
HalCoGen v4.5.01 - Hardware Abstraction Layer Code Generation tool for the Hercules products.
NHET Simulator and Compiler - Used to develop and test the NHET source code for the N2HET (programmable timer) modules on the device

The datasheet and TRM can be found on the product page for the TMS570LS3137 device as well as links to associated application notes, safety manuals, and other documentation.

Additional information regarding tools can be found at this link: http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/microcontrollers_16-bit_32-bit/c2000_performance/safety/tools_software.page#tools

In regard to support for GNU tools, I have forwarded your post to one of our GNU experts who should be getting back to you shortly.

  • Shridhar,

For GNU you would want to contact a vendor like Atollic http://timor.atollic.com/
